Vele di Scampia, a low-income housing development, is soon to be vacated and the tenants evicted. But what will happen to the dogs and cats who lived there, too? Two animal associations, LAV and ANPANAFMC, are supervising teams of volunteers in rescuing the animals from the derelict housing and the trauma of separation from their owners.

About the Movie Ciao casa mia

Marechiaro - The Man and the Beast

The short film was made with the support of the "Making a Film" call for proposals within the "The Man and the Beast" participatory film format, conceived by Antonietta De Lillo and produced by Marechiarofilm, with the contribution of the MIC.

The format was created with the aim of encouraging young filmmakers to create their own documentary films through the support and network that participatory filmmaking creates. By sharing creative processes and bringing together professionals from different generations, participatory filmmaking stimulates reflection and practice in the field of contemporary documentary in all its possible forms of hybridization and experimentation, also thanks to the use of new digital technologies, and with a view to eco-friendly cinema, based on circularity and reuse.
