Through the words of José Mujica, former president of Uruguay, whose thinking strongly calls into question the foundations of contemporary civilization, three intertwined stories from three different continents are told: Japanese executives in Tokyo caught in the vicious cycle of working for corporations and consumerism; sub-Saharan migrants from Mount GurugÁº, near the Melilla border, risking their lives to reach Europe; and Spanish families destroyed by economical downturn, real estate speculation, and eviction from their homes as a result. A humanity lacerated by deep contradictions and an invitation to reflect on the meaning of the path taken, and on the need for sustainable relationships between people and their daily life.
