Nella terra dei fuochi
Directed by
In Campania, at the foot of Mount Vesuvius, in the same land the Romans called "Terra Felix," there are more than 2,500 illegal waste dumps. For decades, particularly in the provinces of Naples and Caserta, hundreds of plots of land have been abandoned by farmers, becoming areas managed by clans to dispose of often toxic industrial waste. And it is precisely here that the Ottavia di Marigliano social cooperative has decided to reclaim a field unused for over twenty years, returning it to its original function: agricultural production. In doing so, it is rediscovering a culture, like rural life, which is increasingly at risk of extinction.
