They are film directors and producers and two times Academy Award nominees; they make documentaries. Their award-winning The Overnighters (2014) and Boys State (2020) garnered them a Sundance Special Jury Award. Mayor Pete (2021), The Mission (2023), and Girls State (2024) won Primetime Emmy Awards. Moss co-directed with Tony Gerber War Game (2024), which was awarded at the Sundance Film Festival.
