Franny
Armstrong

biography

She made her film directorial debut with McLibel (1997, co-directed by Ken Loach), presented at CinemAmbiente 2000, a harsh portrait of the McDonald's empire, which became a legal and media event after the multinational giant filed for an injunction against allowing the film to be shown on TV. Afterwards Armstrong made McLibel Two (2005), an apt sequence. In 2002 she directed Drowned Out, which focused on the Narmanda dam emergency in India.
