He worked in computer graphics before studying filmmaking and animation at the Filmakademie BW, Ludwigsburg. He co-founded Polynoid, a collective through which he directs short films, such as 458nm (2006) and Loom (2010). He founded Woodblock Animation Studio, through which he produces musical videos and creates content for the web series Halo: Forward Unto Dawn.
