biography
He was born in Ferrara in 1912, after university he studies at the Centro Nazionale di Cinematografia and writes for "Cinema" magazine. His debut works, such as 1948's N.U., bare a documentary style. In 1950 Cronaca di un amore signs his debut in fiction feature film making. L'avventura, 1960, is a turning point for modern cinema and his following films La notte, 1961, L'eclissi, 1962, Deserto rosso, 1964 e Blow-up, 1966 tread that wake.
