Taking inspiration from Arturo Soria y Mata’s concept of Ciudad lineal, which laid the theoretical basis for urban expansion that was universal, aprioristic, endlessly repeating and adaptable, the film offers a multifaceted portrait of a city in transformation. The material derives from the Superottimisti regional archives; the film assembles the home movies of nine families, their paths in space and time, loves and desires, and events that marked their lives.
