Desert Passages

Where wild waters flowed 30 years ago, today there is desert. Once a vital artery of the American West, the Colorado River is drying up due to climate change and the impact of technology which had promised prosperity. In this scenario the indigenous communities are losing their access to fresh water and to their land. Meanwhile, water parks sprout up in Las Vegas and new dams for water management are built in California. Hydrographic water basins are at their lowest level and tension between the United States and Mexico is at its highest. There is clear evidence that drought is no longer a remote threat but rather a stark reality in the battle over economic power, natural resources, and social inequality.
