Di mestiere faccio il paesologo

Eastern Irpinia. Franco Arminio has invented a new form of literary study: «paesology», a genre both essential and indefinable. He wanders the villages abandoned after the 1980 earthquake to talk with the few old people who have remained in the area (from an old farmer to an immigrant who returned to his village after having lived in the United States), and to give voice to the story of a nearly forgotten world no one is telling any more.
