Il ricercatore. Perchè ho perso il lavoro per 5 tonnellate di CO2

Directed by

‘After refusing to take a plane, a researcher loses his job’, reads an article in “The New York Times”, accompanied by a selfie of a 50-year-old man aboard a pirogue plying the tropical sea. An activist and member of Scientist Rebellion, Professor Grimalda performs an extreme act of civil disobedience by giving up everything, from the job he loved to his university career and even his family affections, in order to sound the alarm about the desperate condition of the planet, in order to provide an example of the need for action and, perhaps, a possible way out. On his long journey, in the apparent madness of the venture, the protagonist faces moral challenges and universal questions, raises questions about individual and collective responsibility for the climate crisis, and becomes a symbol of sacrifice and commitment for future generations.
