In viaggio con Cecila

Directed by

Summer 2012. With the idea of recounting how Puglia, their homeland, has changed, Mariangela Barbanente and Cecilia Mangini decided to create a true road movie, thus creating a dialogue that unfolds across space and time, thanks to archival images from that era alternating with those of the present. This journey also offers an opportunity to explore a land that, like Taranto, is held hostage by industrial pollution, but also to grapple with questions related to forced industrialization in a traditionally agricultural territory that was already the focus of Mangini's documentaries made in the same places over fifty years ago.
