Man Kind Man

Directed by

Two sea turtles (Caretta caretta) stranded on the coast of Latium are emergency transported to the Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn, Naples, where they will be kept until spring when they can be released. Meanwhile, Luca is combing the beach from the dirt left behind by a motocross race; he uses this material for his pictures. Aniello enters the crystalline waters of the Sarno Rive, pushing his kayak toward the illegal waste deposits; Franco contemplates the sea and picks up two pieces of plastic from the beach. A cycle in which man is both the cause of and the solution to problems; it is a call to gain awareness of the need for primordial empathy with nature.

Endangered by human actions, the diversity of species is crucial to the harmony of the interconnected ecosystems we inhabit: the implications of its loss and why this issue affects more than just those that go extinct.
