Regista, produttrice e sceneggiatrice, si divide tra documentari e film di finzione. Nel 2013 realizza Blackfish, presentato al 13° CinemAmbiente, che segue la vicenda di un’orca segregata in cattività nel parco marino di SeaWorld. Con Sergente Rex del 2017, interpretato da Kate Mara, racconta la vera storia del rapporto tra una marine e un cane da combattimento. Segue il drammatico L’amico del cuore (2019) con Dakota Johnson, Jason Segel e Casey Affleck.
