Nato nel 1959, è uno dei più conosciuti registi slovacchi di film di montagna. Fondatore del K2 studio, ha realizzato numerosi film dedicati alle imprese e alle condizioni di vita estreme in alta montagna. È vice presidente della Slovak Film and TV Academy.
