Ha diretto i suoi primi film mentre frequentava l'università per poi collaborare come direttore della fotografia con registi come Atom Egoyan e Bruce McDonald, realizzando inoltre documentari come Picture of Light (1994) e Gambling, Gods and Lsd (2002).
