Born in 1947 in Stockholm, he studied at Christer Strömholm's photography school, making his directorial debut with the short film Super-Hog (1993), followed by 88 11 13-4753 (1993), Ladulåt (1996), The Latest News (1996), winner of the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival for Best Short Film, Once Upon a Time (1999), AneedTopee (2001), Vegetables (2001), One Magic Evening (2001), Tempo (2002), The Watcher (2003), Girl Power (2004).
