Nato nel 1947 a Stoccolma, ha studiato alla scuola di fotografia di Christer Strömholm, esordendo alla regia con il cortometraggio Super-Hog (1993), a cui sono seguiti 88 11 13-4753 (1993), Ladulåt (1996), The Latest News (1996), vincitore dell'Orso d'Oro al Festival di Berlino per il Miglior Cortometraggio, Once Upon a Time (1999), AneedTopee (2001), Vegetables (2001), One Magic Evening (2001), Tempo (2002), The Watcher (2003), Girl Power (2004).
