«Just ten years after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of the Soviet regime, a new cold war has broken out that is being fought on political and religious lines but the real cause of which is the lack of natural resources. This new conflict is set against the background of global warming that has drastically changed the world's ecosystem. Efforts to find a common solution to this imminent global catastrophe have been thwarted by the new cold war, diminishing international cooperation needed to face this challenge. Seeing how closely interrelated the two problems are, I started to think how I could put them together visually: the idea was to show two snowmen caught up in an absurd battle for a place in the sun».
