Rauw

Directed by

First prize winner at the 2008 Rodos Ecofilms, this film gives a gentle portrait of a strong-willed boy. Like other boys his age, 11-year-old Tom leads a normal life: school, friends, football; except for a food intolerance. On his mother's advice, he follows a raw food diet which comprises only uncooked fruit and vegetables. Not an easy choice having to explain the condition to his schoolmates and avoid the temptation of eating something that could make him ill (like a week-long fever after eating a slice of bread), besides dealing with his mother's protectiveness and her not understanding how cooked food can be harmful.
